Time

Costa Rica does not observe daylight saving time, so from November to March it's the equivalent of Central Time in the United States (one hour behind New York). The rest of the year, it is the equivalent of Mountain Time in the United States (two hours behind New York). This close to the equator, days and nights are roughly the same length all year. Sunrise is about 5:30 am; sunset is about 5:30 pm with about 15 minutes' variation either way.
